iPress service clauses
Airiti Inc. (referred to as “Airiti” hereafter) provides the conditions of use for the “iPress online submission and peer review system” (referred to as iPress hereafter) based on the following clauses that are developed between the users of the system service (referred to as the Service hereafter) and Airiti.
1. Agreement on the clauses
Your use of the Service means that you have read, understood and accepted all the contents of the clauses herein. When you use the specific service of the iPress system, you are requested to observe the service clauses or rules published on the iPress system depending on the nature of the specific service. These service clauses or rules published additionally are an integral part of the clauses of the Service.
2. Change of clause
Airiti may change these clauses and individual clause of use without notice if it is deemed necessary. It is advised to pay constant attention on such modification or change. Your continuous use of the Service after a modification or change is considered that you have read, understood and accepted such a modification or change. When using the Service, the users are advised to read carefully the latest version of the clauses and applicable individual clauses of use, since Airiti will not inform individual users of any change.
3. Obligations of member registration
In order to access the member functions of the System, you have to agree on the following:
(1)
You are requested to provide your correct and most up-to-date information as indicated in the service registration, and repeated registrations are not allowed.
(2)
In case that you provided incorrect or inappropriate information, did not provide information as instructed, missed any necessary information or registered repeatedly, the iPress system may suspend or terminate your account without notification and reject your use of the Service in whole or in part, in addition to the liability associated with any and all losses due to your action.
4. User account, password and security
When you are registered with iPress, it is your responsibility to keep your user account and password secure and confidential. By logging in with the correct user account and password in the required manner, it is considered you who log in the system whether or not it is actually you. You are fully responsible for the actions conducted by using the correct user account and password, and agree on the following:
(1)
You are requested to log out after enjoying the service provided on the website. Remember to close the web browser behind you when you use a public computer or share the computer with others.
(2)
You are advised to inform iPress immediately when you suspect an identity theft regarding your user account and password or any security concern.
(3)
Your user account, password and membership privilege are yours to use and enjoy and only you. Do not lend, transfer or share the account and password with others.
(4)
In case of identity theft of user account and password, misuse or other conditions in which iPress is unable to identify whether it is you who is using the Service in person, iPress will not be responsible for any and all resulting losses except that such losses are attributed to iPress.
5. Privacy policy

Airiti will handle the private and personal information of users according to iPress Privacy Policy.

Airiti will handle information collected from users in a secure manner, and have rigorous measures on the security management.
6. Legal obligations and promises of members
You promise not to use the system for any illegal purpose or in an illegal way, and that you will observe the laws of Republic of China and international practices pertaining to the user of Internet, and the laws of the country or region of jurisdiction if you are a user outside of Republic of China. You agree and guarantee not to use the Service for any illegal conduct or action that may violate the interests of others, including, but not limited, the following:
(1)
Violation of confidentiality obligation required by applicable laws or contract.
(2)
Publication or transmission of any text, picture or file in any format containing content or material that is slandering, insulting, threatening, aggressive, indecent, obscene, incorrect, against public order or good social practice, or illegal.
(3)
Violation of others’ reputation, privacy, trade secret, trademark, copyright, patent, other intellectual property right or other rights.
(4)
Uploading, posting, transmitting or spreading any material that contains computer virus or program code that will interrupt, sabotage or limit the functions of computer software and hardware.
(5)
Conduct of illegal trades or distribution of messages that are false, incorrect, or may induce criminal actions.
(6)
Distribution of ad mails, spams, chain letters or illegal multilevel marketing.
(7)
Forgery of message source or interference with the identification of transmission source in any way.
(8)
Interfering or interrupting this website, server or network to which this website is connected, or failure to observe the requirements, procedures, policies or rules regarding the connection to this website.
(9)
Any conduct that iPress has justification to be inappropriate.
7. Disclaimer
You explicitly understand and agree that iPress does not provide any form of guarantee, implied or expressed, including, but not limited to, applicability of complete rights for a specific purpose and absence of infringement of others’ interests.
(1)
The Service provided by iPress is made available as it is. Users’ specific demands or needs include, but not limited to, speed, security, reliability, integrity, correctness and freedom from interruptions and errors. However, iPress is not responsible for warranty or guarantee of the form or content of the online products.
(2)
In cases that are not attributed to iPress, iPress does not guarantee the reliable and correct transmission of any mail, file or data, nor the integrity, correctness and freedom from interruption and error in the file or data saved or transmitted. The users are responsible for loss of file or data during transmission or saving, or damage to computer system. iPress shall not be held responsible for such a loss or damage.
8. Interruption or termination of the Service
iPress has the right to interrupt or terminate the Service should any of the following occurs:
(1)
Telecommunication equipment is under necessary routine maintenance or servicing.
(2)
An unexpected telecommunication equipment malfunction occurs.
(3)
The network communication service applied for is suspended, resulting in the inability to provide service.
(4)
Providing the Service is impossible due to natural disaster or other irresistible reason, or a factor that is beyond Airiti’s control.
9. Protection of intellectual property rights
The software or programs used by iPress, including, but not limited to, publications, pictures, files, information, data, network architecture, presentation of web pages, web page design and membership contents, are the intellectual rights owned by iPress or other associated owners, including, but not limited to, trademarks, patents, copyrights, trade secrets and proprietary techniques. No one shall user, modify, reproduce, broadcast, transmit, perform, revise, spread, distribute, publish, restore, decompile or disassemble without prior permission. In case that you wish to cite or reproduce any of the software, programs or website contents mentioned above, the prior permission in writing shall be acquired from iPress or other individual owners except for those allowed by the applicable laws. It is users’ obligation to respect intellectual property rights. Infringement of such rights will result in compensation for loss or damage to iPress. iPress may terminate your membership for such infringement and ban you from using the Service henceforth.
10. Governing law and court of jurisdiction
The interpretation and applicability of these clauses and any associated disputes shall be governed by the applicable laws of Republic of China. Taiwan Taipei district Court shall be the first court of jurisdiction.
